Union Dale, PA Wedding: Erin & Bill

Bill & Erin opted for a country wedding at the Village of the Four Seasons. Thankfully the rain stopped and held out for Erin & Bill's wedding. We kicked off the day with the ladies getting ready at the Stone Bridge Inn and the guys at the Village of the Four Seasons.

They were able to have a lovely beach ceremony on the lake at the Village of the Four Seasons with picturesque views of Elk Mountain. The reception was held at the Alpen House and then dinner was out on the lawn overlooking the breathtaking surroundings.

All of our locations for the day were fantastic for getting lovely shots of this wonderful couple. Between the mountainscapes, the lake, and cute swiss-style buildings Bill and Erin had so many great locations for photos after their ceremony.

I couldn't think of a better location for Erin & Bill's wedding!

Wedding Tip Tuesday: Schedule an Engagement Session

IMG_1090.jpg

It's Wedding Tip Tuesday! Today's tip: Schedule and Engagement Session.

There are a few reasons you should have an engagement session before your big day.

In my opinion, the #1 reason to have an engagement session is that it is sort of like a dry run before your wedding day. You will get used to being in front of the camera, posing, making sure that your posture is good, your face is relaxed, etc. Many people tense up in front of the camera (including me!). It's a good idea to get over your fear and become comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day so that you have great images where you look your best!

An engagement session is great opportunity to get to know your Photographer. You will be able to get to know them and see how they work with you and how they give instruction and direction for poses. Out of all of your vendors, your Photographer is the one you will likely spend the most time with. Its good to have a good relationship and be comfortable with them. The more comfortable you are the easier time we will have getting great photos of you.

Your engagement is a special time in your life. It's a new chapter in your love story. Why not document it!?

Engagement photos are great to use for your save-the-dates, invitations, announcements, decor at your bridal shower and wedding, and wonderful for pieces to hang in your home.

Montrose, PA Engagement Session: Caitlin & Jake

I am so glad that Caitlin & Jake chose Salt Springs State Park for their engagement session. No matter how many times we photograph at this location I feel like each session always has a different feel and look. There are so many different locations that we can use, its a really versatile location.

I originally wanted to start Caitlin & Jake's session near the barn but when we were checking out the spots that we wanted to use before the session started I was awestruck with all of the beautiful fog on the mountains and knew we needed to start there before the sun came out too much. I absolutely love working on foggy days. It creates such a beautiful and gentle even lighting.

Caitlin and Jake  are such an easy going and fun couple and I feel like it shows in their images. Caitlin had sent a few pose ideas that she wanted to incorporate into the session. One was the twirl shot that I absolutely love!

Enjoy!

Clifford, PA Wedding: Brian & Emily

Brian and Emily had a lovely intimate backyard wedding surrounded by their closest family and friends. They joined together under the rustling leaves of their adorned birch tree to say I Do.

Their backyard made for the perfect post-ceremony photo spot with lovely mountain views and a field spotted with dandellions. Thankfully the rain held until just before the end!

Enjoy!

The Wedding Experience

What to Expect

We’ve been through the wedding planning process ourselves and know just how stressful it can be. We are advocates for planning ahead especially when it comes to your wedding day.

If you are interested in working with us we always offer a free consultation over coffee (or tea for me) to see if we are a good fit and to get to know each other. Once you have decided that we are the perfect photographers to capture your big day we can get to work!

  • To secure your date we do require a signed contract and 20% deposit

THE ENGAGMENT

1 (109).JPG

Many clients opt to schedule an engagement session (which you can add to any wedding package for $120).

Engagement sessions are fantastic because...

  • It gives you and your husband or wife to be a chance to get in front of the lens and get used to us following you around with our cameras
  • We get to know each other better
  • You get first hand experience of what it is like to work with us before your big day
  • You get beautiful artwork of this special time in your life

We photograph engagement sessions on location and outdoors at the location of your choice. We work with you before your session so that we have a good understanding of what your goal of the session is and if you have specific shots you are looking for. We help to instruct you during your session by giving you actions so that your session looks natural and you feel comfortable and not over posed.

After your session

You will receive your edited images in an online Pixieset gallery where you can download, print, and share your images. We will also send you a usb drive with your images for you to keep along with a print release form.

THE WEDDING

One or two months prior to your wedding (by this time everything should be wrapped up and set in stone) we will meet wherever you like often in the clients home for at least an hour. We will ask you a million questions about your wedding i.e. color, other vendors involved, how many guests you will have etc.
We will also create a timeline for the day with you from when you would like us to arrive to the last dance. We go through a shot list for the entire day. We have our "must get" shots and work with you to make sure that we know what specific shots you are looking for. It works nicely as husband and wife photographers as we often have clients who would like  pre-ceremony shots. I am able to meet up with the bride and her  entourage and get those great shots of her and the other ladies getting ready and Bryce can get the guys getting ready as well as some fun groomsmen shots.

We like to visit your venue(s) before the wedding day to check out lighting and layout. This gives us a chance to prepare and make a game plan as to where we will want to be at certain times to get the best shots.

YOUR WEDDING DAY

IMG_4958.jpg

When it comes to your big day we are ready to go and as excited as you are. We have our gear packed, loaded, and ready to set up. I always carry a small bottle of hair spray, bobby pins, small sewing kit, and safety pins; in case of a hair or dress emergency.
With all of our pre-planning and my husband’s great problem solving skills we are ready to tackle your big day.  We capture everything from you getting your hair done, first kiss, first dance, down to all of the   details and decorations that you put so much time in to. We want to capture everything that we can from your wedding and create beautiful artwork for you.

After the wedding

You will receive your images in an online Pixieset gallery with your edited images to download, print, or share. You will also receive a custom wooden box and wooden USB with all of your images along with a print release form as well as any prints or albums included in your package. We also like to spoil our clients with handwritten notes, teas, and treats!

In this day in age many people choose not to print their images and just use them digitally. We work with White House Custom Colour, a fantastic company that provides quality work with great turnaround times. We have linked your Pixieset gallery to White House Custom Colour to ensure that you are provided with quality printing.

We really urge everyone to print their images large or small. We work to create custom artwork for you and we really want you to value and enjoy your images. So many times computers, USB drives, and tablets come to an untimely demise. Why let your beautiful images go down too?

A Quick Dress Tip for Brides To Be

A Quick Dress Tip for Brides To Be

untitled-49.jpg

Just a quick tip for Brides- You may want to consider speaking with your seamstress about adding a loop to your wedding dress in addition to your bustle. Even though your dress will bustled after the ceremony and formal photographs are taken you still may want to add a loop/strap to your dress for when you are walking to the ceremony location, between shots during post-ceremony photographs as well as walking to the reception, etc. Though your dress will be bustled it  may still drag on the ground a little bit. This is especially a problem with wet and tall grass areas.

Some brides who are not going to bustle their dress also opt to have a wrist loop for dancing as well as not to step on or trip over their dresses.

Some dresses will come with a hanger strap for your train when your dress is hanging, you could use this for walking around to help keep your dress from getting muddy.

Here are some additional resources
